🟢GIANTS IN THE CLASSROOM🟢 Mrs. Abrassart's 4th graders recently attended Kids Day at the Farm. Students learned about the important role that agriculture plays in our daily lives. There were over 20 unique presentations along with five separate farm animal exhibits. We even had the pleasure of having some of the FFA members of SACHS as our guide for the day! Such a fun and educational time!! #TheSAGSway

🟢GIANTS IN THE CLASSROOM🟢 Mrs. Abrassart's 4th Grade Science students applied what they've learned in our Sound Waves Unit by building their own Sound Wave Watcher. Students used vibrations of sound to make visible patterns. #TheSAGSway

D.E.A.R. Families, Our next D.E.A.R. Event will take place on Wednesday, April 2nd. This event will be called “Reading Brightens Our World.” Students and staff are encouraged to wear bright or neon colors. This reminds us that books bring us joy and light up our way, so let’s dress up in colors and brighten the day!

🟢GIANTS IN THE CLASSROOM🟢 Mrs. Vallejo's 4th graders attended the Kids Day at the Farm. They saw many FFA students from SACHS helping and they learned a lot about agriculture. It was a fun, educational experience for all! #TheSAGSway

🟢GIANTS IN THE CLASSROOM🟢 Mrs. Schneider's Kindergarten class celebrated National Reading Month during the month of March by having mystery readers come in to read to their class. A mystery reader could be a parent, grandparent, staff member, etc. The class looked forward to seeing who was going to be their mystery reader each day. They got to hear so many amazing stories from some really cool readers! #TheSAGSway

The SAGS spelling team competed in the Kan-Will Spelling Contest on March 12th, where they earned fourth place! #TheSAGSWay

Today's Soccer Game has been Postponed and Rescheduled till Wednesday, April 9th.

Back by popular demand.....it's the SAGS 2nd Annual Carnival hosted by SAGS Student Council and PTO! Mark your calendars for Friday, April 25th! Ticket Presale forms will be sent home after Spring Break for anyone wishing to skip the line at the carnival! We are also seeking donations of packs of pop, lemonade, juice, etc. and packages of cookies. Please let Ms. Kelly know if you are willing to donate or fill that part of the presale form out! We are looking forward to seeing everyone for a fun evening!

🟢GIANTS IN THE CLASSROOM🟢 Did you know that today is Pi Day? The first three digits of pi are 3.14 and today is March 14th. 6th and 7th grade students in Mrs. Buck's classroom discovered that pi is the circumference divided by the diameter. They also calculated circumference and area of a circle using the digits of pi. They also enjoyed eating some delicious pie. Lastly students created a pi city by measuring the height of each digit of pi. How did you celebrate pi day? #TheSAGSway

🟢GIANTS IN THE CLASSROOM🟢 3rd grade had a great day in math today taste testing 4 different types of pies in honor of Pi Day. After the taste testing was done, the students graphed their favorite pie of the day. Sweet potato pie was the winner! #TheSAGSway

Let's show our love GIANT NATION!!! March 17th-21st will be our Share the Love Coin Wars. Our proceeds this year will be donated to the Kankakee chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Their organization's only goal is to provide beds to children that do not have one. It takes roughly around $250 per bed, which includes lumber, materials, mattress and bedding. Winning grade levels will receive a party! Let's band together GIANTS and support local children in need and collect those coins and/or dollars!
